Marriott-backed Design Hotels has welcomed eight new luxury properties to its portfolio around the world. The representative group features more than 300 handpicked properties, independently owned and operating, in more than 50 countries.

From Europe to the United States, these eight recent members of Design Hotels offer serene getaways in both urban and forested destinations, spanning Switzerland, Cyprus, Germany and the United States.

In the USA, the latest addition is Guest House by Good Neighbor in Baltimore. The seven-room hotel is set in a traditional double-wide Baltimore row home, characterised by brick, wood flooring and steel beams, dating from the early 1900s. Guests can purchase almost everything they see, ranging from beautiful pieces of tableware, furniture, and lighting to plants, candles, books, and more from global brands and Baltimore artisans alike.

Finca Victoria, Spain

In Greece, and accessed by ferry from Athens, Stamna Sifnos is located away from the crowds yet awash with classic Cycladic villages that dot a pristine coastline of crystal-blue waters and sheltered bays. The 20-room retreat exudes an Art-Deco vibe and features extensive gardens, sea views and offers locally sourced, farm-fresh dishes perfectly paired with top Greek wines.

Gasthaus Traube in Buchs, Switzerland sits at the intersection of Austria and Liechtenstein and combines a 200-year-old restaurant and a 14-room boutique hotel. The newly constructed hotel was formed from a dismantled stable, which had stood next to the centuries-old Traubensaal restaurant for decades.

In Germany, KPM Hotel & Residences in Berlin offers more than 170 rooms available in 11 different spatial designs, plus full-service apartments for long stays in the city. The hotel has an elegant and modern interior peppered with iconic porcelain sculptures and objects reflecting the buzzing city’s long design history.

Elsewhere in Europe, the updated private estate, Finca Victoria on Spain’s picturesque Costa Brava is a new addition. The hotel offers a fine-dining experience helmed by Michelin-starred chef Jordi Vilà. A short walk away, guests will discover La Caseta del Mar, Finca Victoria’s exclusive beach bar.

In Cyprus’ historic capital, Amyth of Nicosia is a grand, restored villa designed by an Italian architect around 1900. Initially two separate residences, the building was converted into a school for young girls before finding new life as the hotel, which opened earlier this year.

Esperanza Lake Resort, Lithuania

Meanwhile in Lithuania, Design Hotels has added two properties: Reja in the port city of Klaipėda. A fully renovated structure dating back to 1855, the hotel’s interiors have been full recrafted, with custom marble headboards, authentic brickwork, and carpets by local designers complement ancient exposed wooden beams—a detail that echoes the 18th-century.

While Esperanza Lake Resort is nestled within a dense Lithuanian forest, sitting on the shores of the crystal-clear Lake Ungurys – about 40 minutes from Vilnius. Crafted from logs, stone, clay, and other natural materials that blends into the landscape, the 28 room and suite property boasts a wellness centre along with 15 hectares of private forest and lakeshore.
