Viking has launched its newest sale, the Fly Free Sale, offering free return economy class flights on all river journeys, and free airfare for companions on all ocean and expedition voyages. The offers are valid on new bookings for 2025, 2026 and 2027 river, ocean and expedition voyages from now until 15 November 2024.

Viking has accepted delivery of the cruise line’s newest ocean ship, Viking Saturn® at the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona, Italy.

Since launching its first ocean ship in 2015, Viking has amassed an impressive array of prestigious awards in just a short space of time, and if you want to see why they’ve notched up so many accolades, try one of their luxury cruises close to home.

Viking named its newest ocean ship, Viking Neptune, with a celebration on Sunday in San Pedro, Los Angeles. As part of the event, the ship’s ceremonial godmother, Nicole Stott, retired NASA astronaut, aquanaut and artist, offered a blessing of good fortune and safe sailing for the ship – a maritime tradition that dates back thousands of years.

Viking Chairman Torstein Hagen said he believes 2023 will be a “phenomenal year” in terms of sales during an end-of-year address, while referring to 2022 as a “transition year” from the pandemic.

Viking has shored up four new ocean ships for its fleet with the Fincantieri shipyard. The new vessels will be ‘next generation’ ships and designed with hydrogen fuel cells that Fincantieri says will “set a new standard for the industry”.
